Our Programs

A Place for Every Dancer

From 9 months through adult, Dance AS offers thoughtful training, creative exploration,

and a developmental pathway for every stage of the journey.

At Dance AS, our programs are designed to meet dancers at every age and stage with intention, artistry and care..

Whether you are introducing your little one to movement, looking for meaningful training for your child, or continuing your own dance journey, Dance AS offers a place to grow in confidence, creativity, and connection.

Our Program Pathway

We believe dance education should meet dancers where they are and grow with them over time.

That is why our programs are designed as a journey — beginning with early movement experiences, building strong foundations, and continuing into teen and adult training.

Each stage supports not only technical growth, but also confidence, creativity, discipline, and a lasting love for movement.

Early Childhood Programs

Our early childhood programs introduce little ones to movement through rhythm, imagination, coordination, and joyful exploration.

These classes are designed to build early confidence, body awareness, and comfort in a class setting while making space for curiosity and play.

Tiny Steps Together

Ages 9 months - 2 years

A playful first movement experience for little ones and their grown-up.

Tiny Steps Together introduces rhythm, music, coordination, and connection through guided exploration and shared movement.

Demi Dancer I

Ages 2 - 3.5 years

Demi Dancer I offers an early introduction to movement, imagination, and classroom routines.

Dancers begin building coordination, musical awareness, and confidence while learning how to move within a group setting.

Demi Dancer II

Ages 3.5 - 5.5 years

Demi Dancer II builds on early movement experiences with growing structure, stronger listening skills, and increased body awareness.

Dancers continue developing confidence, coordination, and creative expression as they prepare for the next stage of training.

Youth Training Programs

Our youth training programs help dancers build strong foundations while growing in discipline, artistry, confidence, and self-expression.

Each level is designed to deepen skill over time through clear progression, consistent expectations, and room to grow.

Beginning/Level 1

Ages 6+

A strong starting point for dancers who are ready to build foundational technique in a clear and encouraging class environment. Students develop coordination, musicality, classroom focus, and growing confidence in movement.

Level 2/3

Ages 8+

Level 2 / 3 helps dancers deepen their technical understanding while building strength, focus, consistency, and artistic awareness. Classes encourage steady progress and greater ownership of movement.

Level 4/5

Ages 11+

Level 4 / 5 is designed for dancers who are ready for continued growth in technique, discipline, and artistry. At this stage, dancers refine their skills, strengthen performance quality, and develop greater confidence in how they move and express themselves.

Teen & Adult Programs

Our teen and adult programs create space for dancers to continue training, return to movement, or begin a new chapter in their dance journey.

These classes are designed to challenge dancers thoughtfully while making room for growth, artistry, and personal expression.

Intermediate/Advanced

Ages 13+

For dancers ready for deeper technical work, artistic development, and continued growth in strength, clarity, and performance quality. These classes invite dancers to stretch their abilities while staying connected to the joy of movement.

Teen Programs

Ages 13+

Our teen classes give dancers the opportunity to continue developing technique, creativity, discipline, and confidence in a connected studio environment. These classes support both technical progress and individual expression.

Adult Programs

Adult classes are open to dancers who are returning to dance, exploring something new, or continuing their training journey. These classes offer space to move, learn, and grow in an environment that values both challenge and enjoyment.

Class Styles

Dance AS offers a range of styles that help dancers build versatility, musicality, artistry, and movement confidence.

Ballet

Ballet provides a strong technical foundation through alignment, strength, control, grace, and artistry. It helps dancers build discipline and clarity in movement.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a dynamic and expressive style rooted in rhythm, groove, individuality, and movement confidence. It invites dancers to develop performance presence while bringing their own voice to the movement.

Tap

Tap develops rhythm, timing, coordination, and musical awareness by turning movement into a sound and helping dancers engage with music in a direct, physical way.

Contemporary

Contemporary blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance while encouraging fluidity, storytelling, exploration, and emotional range.

Jazz

Jazz is an energetic and expressive style that develops strength, musicality, performance quality, and dynamic movement through bold, stylized technique.

Special Programs & Enrichment

In addition to our core training pathway, Dance AS offers seasonal and community-centered experiences that create more ways to learn, explore, and connect.

These offerings may include MiniMesters, Studio Weeks, workshops, pop-ups, masterclasses, and other opportunities that add variety and depth to the Dance AS experience.

MiniMester

MiniMesters are short-term class experiences that make it easier for dancers and families to explore Dance AS, try something new, or join at different points in the season.

Studio Weeks

Studio Weeks offer dancers dedicated time to explore, train, and create in a more focused setting. These experiences are designed to build momentum, deepen engagement, and give dancers expanded opportunities to grow in movement and artistry.

Pop-Ups, Workshops & Masterclasses

These special experiences give dancers the chance to deepen training, explore new styles, and engage with movement in fresh ways throughout the year.

Community Programs

Dance AS also creates opportunities for movement education beyond the traditional studio setting through outreach, extension, and arts-integrated learning.

These programs reflect our belief that dance can be a meaningful part of growth, creativity, and connection in many spaces.

Dance AS Extension

Dance AS Extension is our community outreach program designed to bring joyful, structured dance experiences to schools, organizations, and community groups. Through age-appropriate movement instruction, participants build confidence, creativity, coordination, and self-expression in a supportive environment. This program extends the mission of Dance AS beyond the studio, creating meaningful opportunities for children to grow through dance in the communities where they learn and belong.

Brownie Dance Badge Program

The Brownie Dance Badge Program at Dance AS gives Girl Scout troops a fun, fully guided way to complete the Brownie Dancer Badge in one engaging session. Brownies in grades 2–3 explore rhythm, choreography, teamwork, and self-expression through age-appropriate dance activities in a warm and structured environment. The experience ends with a short performance for families, giving scouts the chance to celebrate all they have learned together. No prior dance experience is required.

Performance & Future Pathways

For dancers who want to deepen their artistic journey, Dance AS is continuing to build future pathways that support performance, creative development, and expanded opportunities in dance.

This includes the vision for AfterShock Dance Theatre as part of the long-term growth of the Dance AS community.
